FAQ: Being a Muppies speaker

As the largest membership organization for Muslim urban professionals, Muppies has high expectations of its speakers. The Muppies leadership team will work closely with invited speakers in advance of the event to help shape the speaker’s presentation and tailor content to Muppies’s membership.
Use the Muppies speaker nomination form, , and share as much information as possible. Data you share will be shared with Muppies’s leadership team.

No– while sponsoring Muppies has many benefits, a guaranteed speaking slot is not among them. Please read more about Muppies’s partnership opportunities.

No– one nomination or submission will suffice.

Not at all. We accept nominations on a rolling basis. That said, it’s best to submit your nomination(s) as early as possible to account for the time it will take for Muppies’s organizers to research potential speakers and plan our roster of speakers for the coming year.
The speaking time we allot for speakers varies on the platform – via webinar, a city event, or an invitation to Muppies Annual Conference or symposium. We ask that speakers tailor their talk to the time given, as Muppies. strictly enforces these time frames. We can discuss more upon a formal invitation to speak.

At this time, Muppies does not compensate its speakers– but we do often cover the cost of travel and hotel accommodation when and if applicable. This is decided on a case-by-case basis and we can discuss further upon a formal invitation to speak. Muppies is committed to ensuring both speakers and the Muppies membership have a positive and fulfilling experience.
