Muppies Executive Team Roles and Responsibilities of the Group

Purpose: To act as ambassadors of the mission and activities of Muppies in order to empower and advance Muslim professionals to be leaders in their careers and communities.

Executive Team Role: The Executive Team serves as the organization’s lead strategic and working Board of Directors. They shall participate actively in the programs and activities of Muppies as officers and committee members. Executive Team members are the lead strategists and executors of Muppies’ global activities and are also the lead resource for City Executive Committees.

Background: Though Muppies has existed for over 10 years, it was only recently incorporated into a 501c3 within the past 5 years. The Executive Team acts as the organization’s lead steering committee and working Board of Directors, overseeing strategy and execution on activities at the global level; the Exec Team also provides strategic guidance for the organization’s City Executive Committees.

Term: 2 years; may succeed themselves. A term spans from end of Ramadan, to end of Ramadan.

Eligibility: Executive Team members must be members of Muppies.

Responsibilities of Muppies Executive Team:

Uphold the organization’s mission and purpose
Serve as the Board of Directors in ensuring the financial well-being of the organization
Work with its consultant team to craft the Strategic Plan; will take primary responsibility for executing on the Strategic Plan
Enhance the organization’s public image
Ensure effective organizational structure and planning
Oversee a working committee (per individual’s committee descriptions)
Ensure that projects / activities are delivered on time according to the Annual Operational Plan
Participate in the organization’s fundraising efforts
Develop Muppies’ pipeline of volunteer leaders
Ability to join group meetings*:
1. bi-weekly Global Team phone calls;
2. quarterly calls with Global and Local teams
3. two in-person meetings/events: one in spring and the other held in autumn.

*Muppies does its best to accommodate its team member’s schedules. Bi-weekly and quarterly calls are held during the workweek after business hours and members’ availability is polled as part of the scheduling process.
