Taimur is a cloud technology executive with over a decade of experience in new market development and strategic business development related to emerging technologies. He has passion for technology, business, public policy, and enjoys bringing new ideas and products to market. He currently serves as Managing Director for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Platform, and leads strategic business development as it relates to AWS Platform Technology and Applications driving a variety of initiatives for new market development and market expansion. Having joined AWS in the early days, he held a number of roles in sales and business development, and shaped several key functions in the commercial field organization. He has worked with some of the most innovative and successful startups and global enterprises. Prior to AWS, he spent 6 years with Oracle/Siebel across a variety of roles. Taimur grew up in three countries, and lived in five states. Seattle is home for him, where he lives with his wife and three adorable boys.
Zain A. Gulamali works in Corporate Development and Ventures at Amazon in Seattle. At Amazon, Zain manages the Amazon Alexa Fund, which is Amazon’s $100 million venture capital fund to invest in consumer and enterprise applications of voice technology, IoT / connected devices, artificial intelligence, robotics, and more. Prior to Amazon, he worked in mobile gaming (Pocket Gems), private equity (Warburg Pincus and Monitor Clipper Partners), and investment banking (Goldman Sachs). Zain is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has previously served in both national and regional roles on the Muppies leadership team and has served as a National Board Member of the Aga Khan Education Board since 2012.
